April 10, 2007
ATTENDANCE: Jim Merkowitz, Gene Kropfelder, Fr. Frank, Joe Hidy, Barbara Hidy, Kristy Bruckner, Alanna Kingsolver, Nancy Williams
BUILDINGS & GROUNDS:
Barb H. reported that she called Durable Slate and that we are on a waiting list for service. It could be 6 to 8 weeks. She will continue to monitor this situation.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION:
First Communion is May 13th. Color Guard to participate. Barb H. will order cake.
WORSHIP:
No report
CHRISTIAN SERVICE:
The Easter Vigil went well as did the Baptisms and the Easter egg hunt on Sunday. LAX and K of C will get together and do a fundraiser to raise money to fix up the basement. They will also buy a cabinet for kitchen in the religious ed building. There was a discussion about having a presentation by an Iraqi veteran on Memorial Day.
LADIES AUXILLIARY:
No report
SOCIAL & FELLOWSHIP:
No report
FINANCE:
Nancy W. reported that $677.00 was raised in Lenten meals this year. The parish will make up the difference and donate $1000.00 to Habitat for Humanity. Envelope donations are up and expenses are good.
OLD BUSINESS:
The windows that were installed by Gary Schluep and Gary Lyons are completed. They donated work and materials in the amount of $3775.00 to the church. This is much appreciated. Plaques are currently being developed by Gary S. and Jim M. to place under the windows.
Brad Crosby from Downtown Photo in Washington Court House presented information on the church directory project. He is able to do the directory in a book style format and offer picture packages cheaper than Olan Mills. The church will be responsible for maintaining the schedule and advertising. A vote was taken and all agreed to use Downtown Photo. Jim M. will call absent members for their vote.
NEW BUSINESS:
The new organ has been installed and by all reports, sounded glorious at Easter. There will be a dedication of the new organ on May27th (***Note-Dedication changed to June 24th***). A party will be held afterward. A plaque will be installed in the church to denote the donation. The May 27th date conflicts with graduation, so Father will try to reschedule this event. A “thank you” note will be in the back of church for the next few weeks for parishioners to sign for Charles Uhl, who donated the organ.
A vote was taken about what to do with the old organ. The consensus was to donate the organ as is to a church in New Holland. A parishioner who will make a cash donation for it has taken the keyboard.
The next meeting of the Parish Council will be June 12, 2007.
Respectfully submitted,
Kristy Bruckner
Secretary
